This is our purpose built extension, creating a safe and inviting environment children aged 1-2 years.
They have an open plan space to explore, a variety of different activities and resources, as well as having daily access to both a courtyard area and one of our main gardens.
In hedgehogs, we are flexible with the routine we provide to accommodate all children needs. We work alongside parents to follow home routines so children settle quickly and feel secure.
Our extension also includes a designated sleep area allowing our youngest children the chance to rest, we have also created a small sensory area.
This is our Pre-school, where we take children from the age of 3 - 5 years. The open plan environment allows the children to access play based learning opportunities covering the seven areas of the EYFS at all times including access to our vast out door environment.
When your child joins Owls we promote their independence by encouraging them, with our support to get themselves ready for outdoor play, changing shoes to wellies and encouraging their involvement and ownership of their environment, resources and learning opportunities, discussing with staff ideas for future planning.
Your child doesn’t need to be toilet trained when they join Owls, but they do when they start school. At Perham Down Nursery, when you feel it’s time and your child is ready, we will work with you and support you both.
This is our Nursery Room, where we take children from the age of 2 - 3 years. The children have a large room to move freely in, accessing a variety of activities to support their development though play. While in Squirrels we look at encouraging the children to follow the routine, build relationships and develop their ability to share with their peers and those around them.
Not all children are ready to toilet train at the age of 2, but at Perham Down Nursery we feel it is extremely important to follow the lead of the child, so if your child is beginning to show an interest in the potty/toilet, we will work with you and your child the child to make sure they are ready and it's a positive experience for them.
